Why Kroma's Wellness Reset Is The Most Effective On The Market

As a child, I thought being an adult was so glamorous. After all, the privileges were endless. Stay up as late as you want, eat anything your heart desires, no school or homework, and did I mention driving? Basically, you had life figured out. 

Now that I am allegedly an adult, I’ll be the first to admit we don’t know what we are doing. In fact, none of us will ever really figure out this thing called life, and each day we are doing the very best we can to keep our heads above water. Am I right?

 For those who have been around a while, you might remember that I went on a wellness journey at the beginning of the year, doing my best to re-establish healthy eating habits and basically get my life back in order. Since then, I’ve incorporated several of their products into my daily routine. My quad-lattes in the morning have been replaced by Kroma’s Beauty Matcha, and I honestly don’t know how to start my day without my Super Porridge. While these are my ride-or-die products, I’ve grown incredibly fond of the Cacao-Banana Plant Protein Smoothie, and of course, no day is complete without a spoonful of OMG cookie butter. I know I sound like a walking advertisement for Kroma, but I continue to be amazed. Who knew that healthy/superfood could taste so delicious.

Just when I thought I was doing well, there was a string of events (birthday celebrations, a job promotion, vacations, and conferences), and I began to lose my footing. I reverted back to my old habits. Frequent dinners out, consuming more wine than water, and staring at a laptop for more hours than I care to admit. Even though I’d integrated so many elements of the Kroma reset into my daily routine, it simply wasn’t enough. I was in a constant state of fatigue and general funk, for that matter, not to mention my joints were aching. Rather than beat myself up, I decided that falling back into my old habits would not derail my desire to move forward with a healthy lifestyle. Let’s face it, this isn’t the first time something like this, and it likely won’t be the last. It’s life, right?

Instead of wallowing in all these feelings, I popped online and ordered the Kroma Signature 5-Day Reset. This reset slightly differed from the Deluxe that I did in January. The Deluxe Reset is like a bicycle with training wheels. It’s geared more towards those first-timers and comes with a frother, a tumbler, and some other goodies like the Perfect Fast Tea and Superfood Creamer that make the reset a little more fun. Today, I want to share my lessons learned as I hope that you, too, can benefit from my experiences. 


Lesson One: Wellness resets are much easier when you do them with a friend. 

I embarked on my first Kroma Wellness Reset with one of my dear friends. This reset was a solo journey, and I was prepared to do it alone, but I’m not going to lie; it was a little harder this time not having an accountability partner. We held each other accountable throughout the day, exchanged tips and tricks for success, and vented to one another when we spotted an extraordinary pasta dish on Instagram from our favorite restaurant, Rolf and Daughters. That’s what friends are for, right? 


Lesson Two: Preparation is key.

While this may seem like a no-brainer, it’s so vital that you prepare for the week and commit to yourself. You can’t wing this. In fact, I clear my calendar for the week. Happy hours and dinners quickly turn into walks around the city or porch hangs.

Social media is the devil, and you will likely come across some double cheeseburger with cheese melted down the side topped with the most perfect lettuce and tomato you’ve ever seen. You know precisely the one I’m talking about. Move along! Keep on scrolling.

As you think about the upcoming week, it’s important to grab any items you might need ahead of time from the grocery. I stocked up on raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, along with at least three containers of Toasted Almond Coconut milk. Depending on your protocol, I recommend grabbing some Kale or Spinach for your broths. This time, I underestimated my need for protein and didn’t cook enough chicken, so I was scrambling at the end of Day Four to cook chicken for the final day.

Lesson Three: Small lifestyle changes are easier to manage and maintain.

We’ve all had those times where we’ve been motivated to stay hydrated, exercise more, drink less, eat healthier, and the list goes on. New Year’s Resolutions, many of us make them, but only a few stick with them. After I finished my first Kroma cleanse, I integrated several of their products into my daily routine. By far, the biggest game-changer was the Beauty Matcha Latte. I would start my morning with a quad-latte; depending on how stressful my day would be, I’d likely have at least two more before the day’s end. Kroma allowed me to reduce my overall caffeine intake (what a miracle that was). Not only have I been sleeping better, but that midday slump has disappeared. 

Something as small as swapping coffee for matcha made the cleanse and life, for that matter, much easier. 



Lesson Four: Your entire existence does not have to revolve around shoveling food in your face ( Even though mine sometimes does).

As a food enthusiast, it’s difficult not to want to try every single new pizza or burger joint that opens in Nashville. Trust me, there are SO many. Since I’ve transitioned to working from home more, I’ve found that unless I am in meetings or laser-focused on a project, I occasionally find myself standing in front of the pantry or fridge perusing my snack options. Who am I kidding? We’ve ALL been there. Food is an easy distraction, right? The most important lesson I learned is to view food as a source of nourishment, not a coping mechanism. If Kroma has taught me anything, it’s that food has a tremendous power to heal and change us mentally and physically.



Lesson Five: Self-care is not selfish

If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, self-care is not selfish. I’ll be the first to admit that I easily get sucked into the daily grind. Meeting after meeting after meeting. And If I’m lucky, I squeeze in a quick workout, but that’s not always guaranteed these days. At the end of the day, I am exhausted. I go to bed and do it all over again the next day. However, I know I’m not alone. We are so focused on caring for children, spouses/partners, or aging parents that we neglect to take care of ourselves.

Self-care is not self-indulgent. By taking care of yourself and replenishing the proverbial gas tank, you are inevitability becoming a better parent, caretaker, child, spouse, or partner. Yes, it may seem frivolous to spend $500.00 on a wellness reset. I thought the EXACT same thing, but it is worth it. As a result of my last reset in June, my joints were less achy, my mental clarity improved, and my overall body bloat was significantly reduced. In total, I lost 7 lbs. I had a renewed sense of self-confidence.

Whatever it is, remember that self-care is not selfish, and YOU deserve it.
