It’s Monday and there’s no better way to end the workday than with a glass of wine. I am beyond excited because my best friend is in town. Like many of you, I haven’t seen her in over two years, so this visit is very necessary. As I wrap up all the loose ends, I popped open a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc that I was saving for TJ Tuesday. I’m excited to try this bottle because I snagged it several months ago at Trader Joe’s but it got lost among the many wine bottles in my house. Usually, I’m reaching for a bottle of red, but given the Nashville temps, I’ve been gravitating towards anything chilled < aka whites and rosés>.
I’m excited to sample this bottle from Napa, so let’s jump into the tasting notes, shall we?
TASTING NOTES:
Classic Cork
Pale Yellow Color
Clean, refreshing nose; hints of tropical fruit // think grapefruit, peaches, pears, and lemon
Generous mouthfeel
Unlike other Sauvignon Blancs, you don’t get the pucker factor and grassy undertones that you typically find // medium to moderate acidity
Verdict:
If you are accustomed to drinking Sauvignon Blancs, you will notice that they are typically quite acidic oftentimes leaving you puckering. However, the Fleur de Napa is quite the opposite. This was certainly a more mellow Sauvignon Blanc with notes of both tree and tropical fruit. This would pair nicely with a cheese board and some tapas but is certainly enjoyable on its own. For the $6.99 price point, this is a great summer wine, one to enjoy with friends or in the comfort of your own patio. If you snag a bottle, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Until Next Time!
