Can you believe that we are only 47 days away from Christmas? I don’t know about you all, but I am embracing it! I’ve got my trees up and am already streaming holiday music. I know that escalated quickly. With upcoming holidays, many of you will be looking for wines that pair well with your upcoming dinners or those difficult to deal with relatives ( c’mon, we all have them). This week I want to share a bottle that is an absolute must, Fadeaway, a Meritage produced in Paso Robles. Since I recently did some tastings in Paso Robles, I was curious to try this wine and see how it compared.
Y’ALL…I was NOT disappointed. If you see this at your local Trader Joe’s, snag at least three bottles. You’ll thank me later. But without further ado, let’s get into the tasting details.
TASTING NOTES:
Natural cork
Dark, ruby red color
Slight sweetness in the mouth with hints of cinnamon and chocolate
Bold; fruit-forward (think notes of blackberry)
Smooth finish with hints of dryness/tannins
Earthy finish with hints of spice throughout
Verdict:
Y’all, this is one of the best bottles I’ve had from Trader Joe’s in quite some time. Of course, when I purchased it, I only grabbed one bottle, and when I went back for more, it was SOLD OUT! Do yourself a favor, if you see it in the store, grab a few bottles. It could be a great hostess gift or enjoyed at one of the many upcoming holiday gatherings. And if you hate it, well, throw it in the dirty Santa pile!
Until Next Time!
