Distinctly Different | Deacon's New South
While country music cliches, boozy ballads, and cowboy boots are still prevalent on lower Broadway, Nashville has assumed a new identity as it has evolved into one of the premier destinations in the United States. Whether you are coming to Nashville to celebrate your bachelor/ bachelorette party, a long weekend getaway, or simply a business trip, you must take some time to experience Nashville’s food scene. After all, we may be known as Music City, but we know a thing or two about Southern hospitality and great food.
For those who are looking for an experience that is distinctly Nashville, look no further than Deacon’s New South. No matter if you are a Nashville native, a recent transplant, or a first-timer to Music City, this is one place you don’t want to miss! Trust me!
Where is Deacon’s located?
Located on the first floor of the L&C Tower, Deacon’s is a five-minute walk from Broadway. It’s the perfect place to have dinner before a show at the Ryman or an evening of bar-hopping on Lower Broad.
Tell me all about the menu, please.
Deacon’s New South is a modern steakhouse that focuses on dry-aged steaks, elevated seafood dishes, and quintessential Southern sides. Given that Deacon’s sources many of the ingredients from local purveyors like Mr. Aaron’s Pasta, Noble Springs Dairy, and Bloomsbury Farms, guests truly get to experience the flavors that make Nashville so special.
For my steak enthusiasts, Deacon’s boasts the largest dry-aging room in the Southeast. We enjoyed the Bone-In Ribeye, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the flavors.
If steaks aren’t your thing, don’t worry, Deacon’s offers an assortment of Gulf-Coast inspired seafood dishes. Take my advice, don’t leave without trying the oysters. The spicy butter is downright sop-worthy, and you’ll be asking for more.
You’ve got my attention! When is Deacon’s Open?
Deacon’s New South is currently open for dinner daily from 4 pm-10 pm.
Do we need reservations?
While reservations aren’t required, they are strongly encouraged. Given the popularity of downtown Nashville, I wouldn’t be caught dead without a reservation. Reservations can be made via OpenTable or by clicking HERE.
Are you looking to do something a little special for the bride-to-be, or maybe you want to celebrate your team’s recent accomplishments? Deacon’s offers a variety of private dining options and will tailor the evening to ensure your guests have an incredible experience. The menu looks fantastic! What can’t I miss?
That’s a great question and one that I often ask my server if it is my first time in the restaurant. Without a doubt, you can’t leave without trying one of their dry-aged steaks. While we shared the Bone-In Ribeye, you can’t go wrong with any of the cuts. I also really loved the Mac & Cheese.
Since I am plotting my return visit, I’ve got my eye on the Spicy Crawfish Noodles and Deacon’s Fried Chicken. Both entrees sound incredible!
What if I only have time for a drink?
Come on in and grab a seat at the bar. Deacon’s has a wide selection of cocktails, wine, and spirits. I don’t want to give it away, but if you are a bourbon or whiskey enthusiast, chances are you will be pretty thrilled with what you’ll find on the menu.
If you’re looking to experience Southern hospitality at its finest and the local flavors of Nashville without the headaches and crowds of Broadway, make sure you add Deacon’s New South to your itinerary. If you stop by, I’d love to hear what dishes you enjoyed!
