Nashville | Gold's Deli- A New Go To Hot Spot For Sandwich Lovers

I don’t know about y’all, but there’s just something about a good sandwich. From grilled cheese, open-faced sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, or even the ever-so-popular submarine, I love them all. When I saw the post about Gold’s Deli on the Foodies of Nashville page, I immediately added it to my weekend itinerary. < And if you aren't following Foodies of Nashville- check it out!>

Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly located in Nashville. It’s more like Nashville adjacent, roughly 40+ miles south. Hear me out. I know that’s quite the drive, but Columbia is a charming little town, and you can easily spend a day exploring the area. < I've got some great recommendations, so message me! >

Gold’s Deli | “The Original “ | 1lb + Of Pastrami + Rye Bread + Deli Mustard < Served Hot or Cold>

Gold’s Deli

206 Depot Street, Columbia, Tennessee 38401

Website and Instagram

Gold’s Deli is already making waves with locals and visitors alike, completely selling out in just a few hours of opening, especially on the weekend. Never fear; pre-orders are always available and recommended, so you don’t miss out on that special sandwich.

The menu at Gold’s Deli features an assortment of mouthwatering sandwiches, including a Reuben, “The Original” featured above, and the Italian Hero, to name a few. Still, if none of those speak to you, you can customize a creation to your liking.

During my visit, I was torn on what to order. Do I get a Reuben, which I naturally gravitate towards whenever I see it on a menu, or do I take a walk on the wild side and send myself into a food coma with “The Original?” As it was my inaugural visit, the team recommended I start with “The Original,” served warm. I’m here to tell you it didn’t disappoint. All you need is two hands, several napkins, and a hearty appetite. If you read the menu, it may appear like a standard pastrami sandwich, but this is far from your basic pastrami. It was incredibly flavorful and melted in your mouth. The last time I had a sandwich that good was at Manny’s in Chicago.

Don’t skip out on the sides, either! The deli offers coleslaw, pasta salad, potato salad, and chips. I tried the potato salad and was left speechless. Any of these would be the perfect compliment to your sandwich.

Coined the small but mighty deli, Gold’s has limited counter seating available as most of their orders are take-out or catering.

Gold’s Deli is more than just another sandwich shop; it’s a new local favorite where quality and creativity come together. Every bite feels thoughtfully crafted, and the flavors are balanced and satisfying without being overly complicated. Plus, the location in Columbia means you can enjoy your sandwich and then explore this charming town—it’s a win-win!

If you’re a Columbia local or just passing through, add Gold’s Deli to your list of must-try spots. —you might just find your new favorite place to eat!

Until Next Time!

Welcome to Blonde Voyage Nashville!

I am so excited to finally see this dream become a reality.  Between the destination restaurants, the copious amount of food photos and insanely crazy travel stories, I have decided to share my journey.

My name is Catherine Courtney and I am a Nashville native with a penchant for culinary creativity and epic travel adventures. I'll admit... I also have a slight obsession with handbags.

Two years ago, my life changed completely.  Everything that I knew to be was completely turned upside down.  I quickly realized that time is our greatest commodity and it's not to be taken for granted. I couldn't wait for the perfect time, who knew when that would be.  I needed to take the leap and explore the world on my own.  There were so many places I wanted to go, but where would I start.

France was always one of those places that I had romanticized.  Wandering the streets of Paris and seeing the Eiffel tower were at the top of my list. Without hesitation, I booked a two week trip to the French Rivera and Paris.  It was a journey of a lifetime.  Not only were amazing friendships cultivated, but it was on that trip that i discovered that food and travel are the embers that that keep my soul on fire.

It wasn't until I arrived back in Nashville with my passport that I realized I had been bit. Wanderlust had completely taken over.  I already started thinking about where I wanted to go next.  It was then that I decided that it was more important to have camera full of photos and a tattered journal full of stories than anything else. My heart was overflowing.

One of my favorite quotes that resonates is from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland:

"Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures...."

Join me as I explore near and far away places, filling my passport full of stamps and satiating my appetite with some of the most amazing cuisine the world has to offer.

Thanks for reading!
