Nashville | Visiting Nashville? This Is One Place You Don't Want To Miss...

Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the top tourist destinations in the country, and for a good reason. While we may be known for our Honky Tonks and Hot Chicken, Music City has so much more to offer.

Take from a Nashville native.

From culinary adventures to outdoorsy exploration ( And no, I am not talking about wandering up and down Broadway) and our world-renowned music scene, Nashville really does have it all.

Planning a trip to Nashville can be overwhelming, to say the least. We are known for being a touristy city, so deciding where to go and what to see can be difficult. If you want to learn a little Tennessee history and enjoy some fantastic food and Tennessee whiskey, look no further than Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery

Whether it’s your first time visiting Nashville or you are a longtime local like myself rediscovering some charming establishments that make this city so outstanding, this is one place you don’t want to miss.

Here are all the things you need to know before you go!

Where is Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery Located?

Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery is located in Marathon Village, a quick ten-minute drive from downtown Nashville.

For those who are local, there’s a pay parking lot across from the building and ample street parking.

Are tours and tastings offered?

Distillery tours are offered seven days a week, and reservations are highly encouraged. During the tour, guests will take a journey through generations of Nelson's Green Brier Distillery history, a walk-through of the production floor, and concludes with a tasting of four seasonal offerings. Tours last roughly 45 minutes and are $25.00/per person.

Looking to further your whiskey education? Nelson’s also offers an elevated tasting experience where one of their certified Bourbon stewards/whiskey experts lead a guided tasting of Nelson’s cask series products. Those experiences are limited, and I’d recommend checking HERE to see if your dates align. This experience is priced at $50.00/person.

Aside from the fantastic Tennessee Whiskey, let’s talk about the delicious food offerings!

Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery has an incredible bar and restaurant on site. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and I hear they serve one heck of a Sunday brunch from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you are looking to imbibe, the bar is open from 11:00 am -5:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Friday and Saturday.

After my tour, I headed to the restaurant for lunch. Y’all, I was blown away. Not only was the restaurant space impressive, but their food was sensational. First things first, you cannot leave without trying the Deviled Eggs. If it weren’t for my partner in dine, I would have devoured the entire plate myself.

I know this may come as a surprise, but Nelson’s does offer things other than whiskey on their cocktail menu. In fact, I had a delicious Gin and Tonic to start that was made with their very own Nelson’s Green Brier Dry Gin. It was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to start lunch.

Pro-Tip | Ask your server for the “Secret Menu.” It features an assortment of impressive cocktails that you won’t want to miss. I loved the Honey Cask so much that I ordered the Honey Cask Old Fashioned and walked away with two bottles!

If you aren’t terribly hungry but are looking for something to snack on, I’d recommend ordering the Bavarian Soft Pretzels. Talk about an OMG moment. The Hot Pimento Cheese is the perfect accompaniment.

When it comes to entrees, you can’t go wrong with the Reuben and the No. 5 Burger, as both are favorites. It was a tough decision, so we ordered both and shared. Coming from someone passionate about the classic Reuben, I was speechless. The bread was toasty, the pastrami was flavorful, and the Brier Sauce sent it over the top. In fact, I’d order one right now if I could! The burger was also a show-stopper and one not to be missed.

The No. 5 Burger | Double Patty Niman Ranch Smash Burger + Caramelized Onions + Cheddar + Brier Sauce + Pickles + Potato Bun + Fresh Cut Rosemary Fries

Is your mouth watering? I know mine is! Whether you are a whiskey connoisseur or simply looking for a new watering hole, I can’t recommend Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery enough. We are so lucky to have an establishment like this in Music City. If you are interested in making reservations, click HERE.

Until Next Time!

Welcome to Blonde Voyage Nashville!

I am so excited to finally see this dream become a reality.  Between the destination restaurants, the copious amount of food photos and insanely crazy travel stories, I have decided to share my journey.

My name is Catherine Courtney and I am a Nashville native with a penchant for culinary creativity and epic travel adventures. I'll admit... I also have a slight obsession with handbags.

Two years ago, my life changed completely.  Everything that I knew to be was completely turned upside down.  I quickly realized that time is our greatest commodity and it's not to be taken for granted. I couldn't wait for the perfect time, who knew when that would be.  I needed to take the leap and explore the world on my own.  There were so many places I wanted to go, but where would I start.

France was always one of those places that I had romanticized.  Wandering the streets of Paris and seeing the Eiffel tower were at the top of my list. Without hesitation, I booked a two week trip to the French Rivera and Paris.  It was a journey of a lifetime.  Not only were amazing friendships cultivated, but it was on that trip that i discovered that food and travel are the embers that that keep my soul on fire.

It wasn't until I arrived back in Nashville with my passport that I realized I had been bit. Wanderlust had completely taken over.  I already started thinking about where I wanted to go next.  It was then that I decided that it was more important to have camera full of photos and a tattered journal full of stories than anything else. My heart was overflowing.

One of my favorite quotes that resonates is from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland:

"Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures...."

Join me as I explore near and far away places, filling my passport full of stamps and satiating my appetite with some of the most amazing cuisine the world has to offer.

Thanks for reading!
