It’s Wine Down Wednesday at my house, and I am here to share a bottle of new wine from Trader Joe’s. Yes, it’s red, but once spring stops playing hard to get, I’ll start incorporating some white wines into the rotation. Tonight, I’m enjoying Gearbox, a 2020 Pinot Noir from Sonoma, California. Of course, the label art caught my eye. How often do you see a motorcycle on the front of a bottle of wine? For $5.99, I figured I would give it a shot. After all, I’ve wasted money on much worse! Ha!
Let’s get into the tasting notes, shall we?
Tasting Notes:
Smooth, dry, and slightly acidic
Medium body
Notes of cherry, vanilla, and raisin with a hint of spice
Burgundy hue
Verdict:
I find this Pinot Noir to be one of the better ones that Trader Joe’s currently has in stock. Not only does it drink like a $15-$20.00 bottle of wine, it’s smooth and could pair nicely with a beef dish or a charcuterie board. It was very enjoyable and something that I will definitely be purchasing again! If you snag this bottle, let me know what you think in the comments below!
Until Next Time!
