No Matter How You Slice It...

No matter how you slice it, pizza and beer make a great combination.

Y’all, I am so very excited to share with you that Smith and Lentz is back and better than ever. It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago, craft brewery Smith and Lentz found itself in the path of the deadly tornado that tore through Nashville. It’s taken them almost a year to recover from the devastation, but they are back slinging their delicious brews, and did I mention they’ve added pizza to the menu? That’s right, go ahead and break out the elastic waistband pants, after all, they are a zoom meeting favorite.

Smith and Lentz has very strict COVID-19 protocols and honestly, I felt incredibly safe hanging inside, drinking beer, and enjoying their amazing pizza. But, there are a few things you need to know before you go:

  • Pizzas are available for dine-in or pick-up. However, this means that patrons can no longer bring their own food. After everything this brewery has gone through in the last 12-months, it’s a small ask, in my opinion.

  • No if, ands, or buts- MASKS ARE MANDATORY. Bandanas, gators, and whatever other make-shift mouth coverings you are thinking of should be left in the car or at home because they won’t make it past the front door at Smith and Lentz. This rule applies to kiddos as well.

  • Patrons who choose to dine-in can take advantage of their patio seating or snag a table inside. These tables are strategically placed six feet apart, no exceptions.

  • Indoor dining limits guests to four people per table while patio seating will allow a few more friends, but no more than six.

  • All seating is first-come, first-served. If there’s not a table available, you may be hanging out in the parking lot with your buddies until one is available or ordering that pizza pie to go.

  • Like many restaurants, QR codes are on each table for easy menu access.

  • Cash may be king, but Smith and Lentz is currently only accepting credit cards.

If there’s one thing I know, it’s good pizza. Along with cheese, wine, and beer, it’s one of the more prominent food groups in my diet. When Smith and Lentz reopened, they snagged Chef Chris, who spent the last five years working at Nashville favorite, Rolf and Daughters, need I say more? Believe me when I tell you that these wood-fired pies will make you swoon. While I only had a chance to sample No. 3 and the ranch, I am ready to order one of everything. The menu rotates often, so if you have your eye on something, carpe pizza!

Last but not least, don’t forget the beer! While I tend to gravitate towards dark ales and stouts( which I had pre-pizza), I paired this pizza with the Big Night Italian Pils and was blown away. The herbal notes in the beer made for the perfect pairing with the pizza.

Smith and Lentz is open Monday-Friday from 3 pm-10 pm and Saturday-Sunday 11 am-10 pm. Order all the things and thank me later!

Until Next Time!

Welcome to Blonde Voyage Nashville!

I am so excited to finally see this dream become a reality.  Between the destination restaurants, the copious amount of food photos and insanely crazy travel stories, I have decided to share my journey.

My name is Catherine Courtney and I am a Nashville native with a penchant for culinary creativity and epic travel adventures. I'll admit... I also have a slight obsession with handbags.

Two years ago, my life changed completely.  Everything that I knew to be was completely turned upside down.  I quickly realized that time is our greatest commodity and it's not to be taken for granted. I couldn't wait for the perfect time, who knew when that would be.  I needed to take the leap and explore the world on my own.  There were so many places I wanted to go, but where would I start.

France was always one of those places that I had romanticized.  Wandering the streets of Paris and seeing the Eiffel tower were at the top of my list. Without hesitation, I booked a two week trip to the French Rivera and Paris.  It was a journey of a lifetime.  Not only were amazing friendships cultivated, but it was on that trip that i discovered that food and travel are the embers that that keep my soul on fire.

It wasn't until I arrived back in Nashville with my passport that I realized I had been bit. Wanderlust had completely taken over.  I already started thinking about where I wanted to go next.  It was then that I decided that it was more important to have camera full of photos and a tattered journal full of stories than anything else. My heart was overflowing.

One of my favorite quotes that resonates is from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland:

"Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures...."

Join me as I explore near and far away places, filling my passport full of stamps and satiating my appetite with some of the most amazing cuisine the world has to offer.

Thanks for reading!
