Nashville has a vibrant and diverse dining scene that has gained significant attention in recent years. It seems like a new restaurant or bar is opening weekly, making it hard for this girl to keep up. As I've been combing through restaurant listicles and articles about some of my favorite long-time establishments shuttering, there was one place I've been keeping an eye on: Butterlamp Bread and Beverage. I was bursting with anticipation when I saw a wine bar and bread house opening in East Nashville. After all, those are two of my favorite food groups- Do you really need anything more?

Even though some may argue that it’s dominated by Southern cuisine and meat and threes are a Music City mainstay, I’ll be the first to tell you that there’s something for everyone. I have spent many a night sipping bourbon cocktails at their bar or curled up by their fire pit, but it was my first food encounter.

If I remember correctly, a weekend was defined by the time I closed out of PowerPoint and shut my computer down on Friday afternoon until it was booted back up on Monday morning. This time was typically used for leisurely activities: checking out movies, shopping, and cocktailing with my friends.

Not only did we have the usual cast of characters: bachelor/bachelorette parties, concert-goers, and tourists, but this weekend we welcomed thousands of visitors from around the country participating in the Rock and Roll Marathon.
