There's no shortage of festivals in Tennessee.  Whether it's food and wine, music, or film, we've got them covered.  However, when I heard the National Banana Pudding Festival was hosted less than an hour from my house, I knew a road trip was in order. Every time I have banana pudding, I am reminded of my Nanny and how she would often make this for our Sunday dinners because it was one of my Papa's favorite desserts.

Forgive me.  I am WAY behind on the blog.  Not only did I cover the Music City Food and Wine Festival but a few days later, I hopped on a plane to Belgium to do a little exploring.  Needless to say, this post is totally overdue.  Sorry gang! 

Torrential downpours did not stop festivalgoers from coming out to Bicentennial Capitol Mall and checking out the Music City Food + Wine Festival. Attendees doubled up with umbrellas and ponchos and made their way through the demonstration and grand tasting tents.

Deb Paquette has built quite the fan base over the past thirty years. When she and her husband, Ernie, closed Zola in 2010, Nashville grieved the loss of an extraordinary restaurant. Imagine the excitement throughout the city when Deb emerged back on the food scene in 2012 with Etch.

I can remember being a little girl and seeing Southern Living sitting on the coffee table or in the kitchen at both my mom and grandma's house.  It truly is a guide on living in the south.  Whether it's a new coffee cake recipe or learning how to stretch your green thumb into the fall months, this publication has it all.  

When Bajo Sexto and Chef Kaelin Ulrich Trilling announced the Del Mercado menu, I was anxiously awaiting my visit. Del Mercado (meaning “from the market”) is an ingredient-driven series of special menus and dishes available during the late summer produce.

I had the opportunity to attend the kick-off for one of the best food and wine festivals that South has to offer, the Music City Food and Wine Festival.   The fourth annual event will be held September 17 and 18 at Bicentennial Park.
