Blonde Voyage's Featured Favorites | September 2023

One evening, I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a meme that said: “ August went by pretty quick, but September is doing 75 mph in a 35 mph zone.” Honestly, they aren’t wrong. While many of us are savoring the sweetness of September, I’m over here with a countdown clock to Christmas.

New York City | Your 48- Hour Food Guide to NYC

While the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and the flashing lights of Times Square get most of the attention, New York City is home to some of the most incredible restaurants in the world. However, sorting through it all can be pretty daunting, especially if you are only in town for a short time. To help cull down your options and spare you from the tourist traps, I’ve compiled a list of all my favorite spots I enjoyed during my 48-hour adventure in New York City.

Blonde Voyage's Featured Favorites | August 2023

Is it me, or was August an absolute whirlwind? I know many of you were getting your kids ready for “back to school” and secretly celebrating reclaiming your days for yourself. Looking back, I spent most of the month packing and repacking my suitcase. If I were to guess, I clocked more hours at the airport and in the sky than in Nashville. Don’t get me wrong, I had the chance to travel abroad to London and Montreal and even explore a place a little closer to home, New York. Montreal was a new addition to my travel itinerary, and despite Air Canada losing my luggage (why the Apple Airtag will always be a favorite), I enjoyed every minute. This month’s featured favorites may look a little different. While there are some obvious favorites, many are places or dishes that spoke to me during my travels. Like always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Atlanta | Join Me At Kimball House

Whenever I travel, there’s nothing I love more than seeking out the local establishments that exude the character and charm of the city.

For my fellow Nashvillians, this was Arnolds’s Country Kitchen. It was not simply a meat and three, but rather a restaurant rich with tradition, incredible hospitality, and some of the best damn food I’ve ever eaten. RIP Arnold’s! So naturally, when I travel, I am looking for that quintessential restaurant in each city I visit. From fine dining beacons to fast food favorites, there’s usually no shortage of fantastic food wherever you go, but you must do your research.

Nashville | First Look At Ophelia's

It's officially that time of year again when I scroll through Instagram and think, "You're on vacation….again?" While my feed is filled with friends sipping on Aperol Spritzes, wandering through cobblestone streets, and learning to make the perfect pasta, I've discovered a little taste of Italy a little closer to home at Ophelia's Pizza + Bar.

Nashville | First Look at Noko

I’m curious, how many of you dine at a new restaurant on opening weekend?

For those food enthusiasts like myself, there seems to be a feverish race to be the first to dine at the newest or latest restaurant in Nashville. Perhaps my competitive nature and curiosity get the better of me, but let’s face it, if you aren’t the first to showcase something on social media, you might as well not even show up.

Franklin | Savor The Sweetness Of Southall

As a food enthusiast, I always watch for unique culinary experiences throughout middle Tennessee. Wine tastings, cheese pairings, cooking classes, you name it, and I’m there. One day while scrolling through Instagram, I happened upon quite the event: a honey tasting at Southall Farm’s jammery. While I had no idea exactly what honey tasting entailed, I knew it was something that I had to try.

Nashville | Doughbird Now Open!

It's a well-known fact that there's no shortage of restaurants in Nashville.Except in one area, Green Hills. While the area has flourished in the last few years with the addition of Cava, Chopt, North Italia, and True Food Kitchen, there are also locations like Zoe's Kitchen and Pei Wei closing their doors. As I drove down Hillsboro Road, I noticed that CPK closed (FINALLY) and renovations were being made to the space. Uncertain of what was opening in the former California Pizza Kitchen space, I decided to do what I do best, internet stalk. In no time, I discovered that Sam Fox was expanding outside downtown Nashville and bringing his Doughbird concept to Green Hills.

Nashville | Brunch And Bottomless Mimosas At STK Steakhouse

Since Arnold’s Country Kitchen closed earlier this year, I’ve been at a loss for where to eat. Knowing the number of restaurants in Nashville, that may seem ridiculous to many of you, but Arnold’s was my ride-or-die. I’d go there for a cocktail and grab a quick dinner. Still, most importantly, I’d find myself there on many Saturdays praying that the Nashville bachelorettes and downtown tourists had not depleted the 7-Up Pancake supply.

I Spent $500.00 On The Kroma Wellness Reset And This Happened...

Happy new year, everyone! We survived and made it to 2023!

I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled that the holidays are behind us.

Before you start making a face, hear me out. I love spending time with friends and family and celebrating all the things, but the last few months have been absolutely grueling. Who knew that brunches, happy hours, dinner parties, and nights out on the town could be so exhausting? Hell, my credit card statement reads as if it was a food diary. In fact, the real heroes of the holidays were the button and zipper on my jeans. They were holding on for dear life, but I am grateful they didn’t burst open at the most inopportune time.

Happy Birthday, Louis!

When one of your favorite fashion houses decides to celebrate its 200th birthday, you know it’s an event not to be missed. After spending ten months on display in Paris, Singapore, and Los Angeles, the “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries” exhibit made its final stop in New York City, where it took up residency in the former Barney’s space. The exhibition celebrates the designer’s innovative spirit, iconic trunks, and the fashion house’s 200 birthday.

It’s hard to believe that in just a few days, we will say goodbye to 2022. It’s been a remarkable year, to say the least. Singapore | Odette- A Meal To Remember

Do you keep a list of places you want to travel to or restaurants that you want to visit? They are not necessarily “bucket-list” items per se, although some might consider them as such. Over the years, as I’ve read various food and travel articles, I’ll pull out my notes and capture those locations that I’ve found intriguing. This list runs the gamete with bars, breweries, taco joints, and acclaimed restaurants that I anxiously await to visit.

Rome-ing Around Italy

Hi, Friends!

Courtney, here. Yes, I am still alive, and contrary to what my Instagram account may depict, I have not traded in my day job to become a world traveler….yet! It has been too long since we’ve had a chance to catch up. Between work ( yes, that day job pays the bills!) and my travel schedule, I haven’t had much time to share what’s been going on.
